Born in 2017 out of a clear need from the local skate community for its own space and more diversity in our city's cultural offerings. At the time, every Thursday for one year, completely under the radar with a DIY mentality. From 2019 onwards, for the duration of a year in the main hall of the Landbouwbelang as a pop-up.
 
The Skate Café is an adventurous, experimental and mostly nocturnal event. It combines contemporary (local) musical programming with dancing, gastronomy and skateboarding. It is a platform that also comprises a wide range of activities performed with, by and for young people aged between 18 and 28.
 
By opting for new, independent forms of expression and grassroots culture, the Skate Café also offers a platform to internationals, students, creatives, skaters and locals.
